Sweet Honey really started when I was pregnant with my second child. I had always loved shopping and playing dress-up with my first daughter, but I started noticing how hard it was to find pieces that felt fun and fashionable, yet still functional for babies and kids.
With a background in fashion and graphic design, I started creating pieces for my own kids — pulling inspiration from the prints, colors and fabrics I remembered loving as a kid growing up in Hawaiʻi. It started simply as a creative hobby and a way to dress my babies in something that felt a little more us.
I started sharing what I was making, and before I knew it, other moms were asking where they could get the pieces for their own kids. What started as a little hobby slowly grew into something I never imagined.
More than 12 years later, I’m still doing what started it all — creating pieces inspired by my family, Hawaiʻi, the memories I grew up with, and the families who have grown alongside Sweet Honey.
